「Half-Life 2」，発売から1か月半で170万本のセールスを記録
海外ゲーム販売会社大手のVivendi Universal Gamesは，SF FPSゲーム「Half-Life 2」（邦題 ハーフライフ2）が，2004年11月16日の発売から1か月半で170万本のセールスとなったと発表した。
ソースコードの流出などにより，当初の発売予定から大きく延期されたこともあり，一時は人気にも陰りが見えたようにも思えたが，やはり待っていた人は多かったようだ。
なおHalf-Life 2は，開発元Valve Softwareから直接ダウンロード販売で購入するという手段もある。今回発表された数字に，そのダウンロード販売の分が含まれているのかどうかは不明だが，たとえ含まれていたとしても，170万本という数字は立派なものである。（朝倉哲也）
