　東京 - 2021年3月18日（木） - 2K は先日、ゴルフ史上もっとも象徴的な有名選手のひとり、タイガー・ウッズ選手と長期に渡る独占契約を締結したことを発表し、ホールインワンを決めました。加えて、2K は好調な売上を記録し続けている人気作品『ゴルフ PGA ツアーR 2K21』および「The Golf Club」シリーズの開発会社である、株式非公開企業 HB Studios Multimedia Ltd. の買収に向けて最終契約の締結中であることを明かしました。買収は通常の取引完了条件に従い、2021 年第 1 四半期に成立する見込みです。両取引の詳細な条件は開示されておりません。

　タイガー・ウッズ選手はメジャー選手権優勝 15 回以上、PGA ツアー 82 勝、PGA ツアー「プレーヤー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」を 11 回以上受賞したほか、極めて低いキャリア通算スコア平均、PGA ツアーのキャリア通算勝利数 1 位タイなど、輝かしい成績を誇るゴルフ史上最高の選手のひとりであり、スポーツ界屈指の成功を収めている選手とも言われています。

　ウッズ選手と 2K の契約には、「ゴルフ PGA ツアー 2K」シリーズおよび、契約期間中に 2K が発売するゴルフゲームにおけるウッズ選手の名前と肖像の独占使用権が含まれています。ウッズ選手は「ゴルフ PGA ツアー 2K」のエグゼクティブ・ディレクターおよびコンサルタントとしてゲーム開発に積極的に携わることになります。また 2K は、ウッズ選手が創設した基金 TGR Foundation とも提携します。この基金は、評価の高い STEM 教育や大学進学プログラムを恵まれない環境の学生に提供し、学業だけでなく人生で活躍する機会を与えることを目的としています。
